Mr Shungu Ushewokunze completed his medical training at the University of Zimbabwe in 1997. In 1998 he moved to the United Kingdom and went on to join the basic surgical training rotation in Newcastle upon Tyne which he completed in 2004.
Mr Ushewokunze then joined the West Midlands neurosurgery training programme and completed neurosurgery training in 2011. Following this he spent a year at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne on a paediatric neurosurgery fellowship. He was appointed as a consultant neurosurgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS foundation trust and Sheffield Children’s Hospital in March 2012 and he is an Honorary lecturer at the University of Sheffield.
Mr Ushewokunze has been working at Barlborough Treatment Centre as a general spinal consultant since November 2013.
