Dr Magdalena Cerna graduated from university in Prague where she trained in all areas of anaesthesia including cardiac, general surgery, abdominal surgery, trauma, gynaecology, paediatric and orthopaedics. In 2008 she obtained Clinical Fellowship in the Anaesthetic Department of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals working at both the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General Hospital.

Dr Cerna began working at the Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre in 2014 as consultant anaesthetist for orthopaedic surgery. In 2015 she became part-time and uses her skills to provide anaesthesia to patients in both Barlborough and the Mulacova Hospital in her country of origin, the Czech Republic.
